Acorns are pretty common but did you know you can actually eat them? Long associated with tummy aches they are actually perfectly edible but do require quite a bit of preparation. Don’t eat them straight off the tree, best to wait till they’re brown then pick. They need to be boiled to remove their bitterness and other chemicals that can give you an upset stomach. But once that’s been done you can dry them off and grind into a nut flour or use as other nuts. They’re also supposed to be good for bottom related complaints! Who knew right?
